Product Review: AcneCare

If there’s one thing that I get often from close friends (literally friends who comes close to me) is that I have nice skin. I guess I owe that to my mama who made sure that we learn how to take care of our skin.

I don’t have a daily facial regimen aside from using papaya soap on my face and water. And I’m also grateful that my hormones are nice to me whenever it’s nearing that time of the month, I only get one or two prominent pimple on my face but that doesn’t mean that I don’t use the aid of anti acne products.

A few weeks ago, I received a #sharkmail that contained AcneCare’s products, just in time to try it on my then-present zit. How did it fare? Read on below. 🙂

AcneCare offers three acne solutions to fit one’s needs. There’s the AcneCare dietary supplement which contains 3 Active Ingredients namely Lactoferrin which is clinically proven against acne, Linumlife Extra and Zinc Gluconate. Lactoferrin has antibacterial properties that prevents the outbreak of acne, and zinc is present as a supplement as people with acne showed lower levels of zinc.

If you have regular acne outbreaks then this might be the best supplement for you. This is sold at Php885.00 per bottle (30 capsules).

Next up is the AcneCare bar soap which is perfect to add on your daily skin regimen. If there’s something I learned throughout the years, it would be that one should not use bath soaps (especially scented ones) for facial use. Always use a mild facial soap or wash for your face. Best if unscented and hypoallergenic!

The AcneCare bar soap contains Bio Sulfur, ACE B3, and tea tree oil which is an antibacterial so it is really effective against acne. The bar soap is also great to use especially for those pimples we get on odd places like one’s back or shoulders. Seriously, I get zits on my back sometimes. Is it just me? Or does this happen to you too?

The bar soap (135gms) is sold at Php149.00 each.

And lastly (and my favorite), is the AcneCare Acne Drying Lotion that provides a quick remedy for those pesky zits. This is best for those moments wherein you need that pimple gone, STAT! Just dab it on your pimples and let the solution dry over it and voila, it’s gone! Well, most of the time it is gone by the next day but it we’re talking about a humongous zit, then there might be a chance that it’s still present but definitely reduced in size.

The drying lotion is available for Php299.00/bottle.

I’m no skin nor beauty expert but here are some of my personal tips on keeping your face acne free:

  • Wash your face regularly. The key to an acne-free face is to keep it clean.
  • Keep some wet wipes ready on your bag. If you’re like me who commutes to work (Taguig to Ortigas yo!), haggardness is our friend, as well as dirt and dust from the daily commute hustle. Use your wet wipes to clean your face especially when you get that “nanlilimahid” feeling already.
  • Avoid using products with harsh chemicals/ingredients on your skin.
  • Get enough sleep. I know that sleep is for the weak, but the weak also gets acne breakouts.
  • And lastly, don’t forget to HYDRATE! This is very important!

Do you have any skin care tips that you can share? Leave it in the comments! 🙂
