Never did I miss the Sinulog Parade for the last 5 years. Four of which I began taking pictures of the Grand Parade, and this was the only year that I was able to shoot
legally with an ID/pass. As always, the parade never fails to surprise me. The Sinulog had been always my dose of color overload, imo, everything becomes cheerfully saturated. 🙂
I should say, it is indeed the grandest festival in the Philippines! I haven’t been to Dinagyang or Masskara but Sinulog will always be special for me. My yearly Sinulog participation became a devotion because just like how they do it in Obando, I am a prayed-for child and paying the Sto. Nino a visit on his feast day is our way of thanksgiving. 🙂
In front of the Sto. Nino Basilica after the Fluvial Parade which is held every Saturday of January. It is a tradition that unfortunately, I haven’t joined yet. 🙁 Mahirap bumangon sa madaling araw.
The sort of obligatory henna tattoo that I get every year. 😀 First time to have them floral but this turned out very nice. If only it wasn’t smudged because of the hustle bustle we had during the Drumbeat.
Let the Grand Parade begin!
Every participant’s costume is well thought off. And effort kung effort.
Always been a fan of details and Sinulog gives me an overdose of it. A good kind of overdose.
Thanks Juanes (my Sinulog Parade buddy)!
Every participant’s dedication and devotion to perform is unbelievable. They practice all year round for this.
Being a sea creature. It’s more fun in the Philippines!
Festival Queens. *sigh* I have dreams of being one. Asa naman! Lol.
Sinulog had always been the photographer’s delight. The number of photographers joining the parade every year increases.
First time to enter Abellana Sports Complex to watch the performances. It was so much fun despite the haggardness.
We were graced with a rainbow later that afternoon that made the heat + drizzle weather worth it.
Next year again Sinulog! And who knows, someday I might be able to dance the beat in the streets. Wishful thinking. 🙂
